Imaginative Play

Nature offers us a place where we can find peace and wonder
For children, it is the greatest playground of all, with all its diverse structures, smells and textures.
Nature offers countless opportunities for risk-taking and risk-assessing, all while ‘playing’. This helps our explorers learn through amazement, with the freedom, separate from the adult world.
Imaginative play can be based on the national curriculum.Say the children are learning about the topic ‘Land ahoy’ at school – first thing that pops into my head is ‘pirates’.
So how can you incorporate the theme of pirates into learning? Well firstly, play is learning… Let them explore their learning through imaginative play.
